The London Borough of Hillingdon has renewed its managed services contract with global data centre and critical environment specialist Keysource for a further two years, building on a successful partnership spanning over 15 years.
Under the terms of the deal, Keysource will continue to provide planned and reactive maintenance and support on the critical USP infrastructure throughout the Council’s data centre estate.
The service will include the provision of a 24/7 emergency response in the event of an issue benefitting from a guaranteed 4-hour response to site along with a help desk for out of hours support. All data will be stored in Keysource’s service management platform which will provide contract management and administration.
In addition, Keysource have undertaken a significant upgrade project removing a legacy UPS in Uxbridge and installing a new system. This was done during working hours, with no downtime, utilising a specialist lift and shift system to deliver the equipment into the basement and into a relatively tight space.
Michael Clarke, Solution, Design & Cloud Operations Manager at London Borough of Hillingdon, said: “Keysource have supported our UPS devices for over 15 years, giving us the confidence that our critical systems will remain unaffected by power surge or failure, and ensuring each area of the business can continue to provide services to our residents during any disruption to our power supply. The recent replacement presented some challenges related to site accessibility and our requirement to perform the upgrade without affecting the live environment. Our long-term working relationship with Keysource assured us that they had the expertise and experience to successfully complete the task.”
Patrick Dryden, Contract Sales Engineer at Keysource, said: “We have 40+ years of experience in designing and supporting critical environments and our operating model has evolved into a unique, streamlined delivery service supporting all aspects of facilities management. We ensure availability, reduce risk and deliver cost effective operations, and this is underpinned by our safety and security management, implicit in our service delivery.”
