About the project
Following a competitive tender, one of the leading universities in Wales appointed Keysource to undertake a full refresh of its edge network.
The contract was directly awarded through the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) Framework for the provision of Data Centre Management Equipment and Infrastructure, where Keysource is a top ranked partner.
The project involved the refresh of the university’s 300 remote communications rooms and the provision of high speed wi-fi to 5,500student accommodations and hospitality areas.
It is part of a planned update by the university which has been expedited by the Covid-19 pandemic and the need to support online education and remote working.
Keysource audited, designed, procured and managed the installation of new equipment.
The project required detailed planning in order to minimise disruption and provide a seamless transfer for users. This included coordinating with multiple stakeholders across IT and estates to ensure the project was delivered on time, on budget and with an exceptional customer experience.
