Junior IT Systems Administrator

About the role

As Keysource Group continues to grow, we are seeking a Junior IT Systems Administrator to join our IT team. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for IT, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows desktop environments and basic IT troubleshooting skills, who is eager to contribute to our success. This great opportunity will allow you to take ownership of the role and become a key, indispensable member of the team.

In this role, you will support office IT hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 cloud environments. You will provide technical assistance through the IT service desk to internal staff across the Keysource Group, as well as remote workers. Additionally, you will assist with technology compliance tasks and help manage backup and disaster recovery plans.  

The ideal candidate could be an IT graduate seeking their first IT Systems Administrator role, or an individual with limited IT experience looking to grow their skill set. The role requires a strong willingness to learn and expand technical knowledge, with the ability to develop your skills through coaching and mentoring from the IT Manager.

Background:
 
The Keysource Group operate across 3 main offices: Gatwick, Farringdon and Nottingham, and a small satelite office in Manchester, with a total of circa 150 users.  Occasional travel to our London and Nottingham offices may be required.
 
Keysource have adopted a ‘cloud first’ operating model, operating Microsoft 365 and provisioning
software as a service (SaaS) where possible. Utilising Microsoft InTune and Endpoint Configuration Manager to manage and deploy workstations and applications to users. A few remaining applications are in the process of transitioning to SaaS, and the Keysource file storage is being migrated to Microsoft SharePoint.  These projects are underway and are expected to be completed soon.

They are highly capable of working independently while making significant contributions to team efforts and excel at prioritising and organising tasks with care and accuracy.

Dedicated to maintaining service continuity, they are adaptable to changing business needs and requirements, fostering a positive team spirit and embracing change. With a strong sense of responsibility and the initiative to tackle challenges head-on, they are well-equipped to support and drive success in a dynamic environment.

Additionally, we’re looking for candidates with following experience:

Essential:
– Good understanding of Microsoft Windows desktop environments
– Basic knowledge of computer networking principles, and computer troubleshooting techniques
– Experience providing IT support using remote desktop tools
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
 
Desirable:
– Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms
– Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server environments
– Experience in managing Microsoft Active Directory
– Skilled in administering Microsoft Exchange
– Knowledgeable in antivirus and spam protection software
– Understanding of Microsoft Autopilot and Endpoint Manager
– Awareness of ITIL and IT service management practices
